Ian Chapman

Ian Chapman joined CPX Energy in 2024 and serves as Chief Investment Officer. Most recently, Mr. Chapman served as reservoir engineer for Split Rock Resources, a private equity backed, non-op company focused on the Permian Basin where he closed more than $200MM of acquisition and divestiture packages. Prior to Split Rock, Mr. Chapman served in various operations, reservoir, analytics and business development roles at Merit Energy, Marathon Oil, and Nexen Petroleum.

Mr. Chapman earned his B.S. in Physics and Math from the University of Virginia and an M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M.
